Matt Barber

I look after the day-to-day finance functions, reporting and compliance for Arcwing and support the businesses Arcwing invests in as necessary. My team acts as the eyes of the organisation, ensuring the wider business has the visibility it needs to effectively plan and set targets, and to make better everyday decisions. 

I’m an ACCA qualified chartered accountant, and hold a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University of East Anglia. I enjoy the diversity of my role because it often extends beyond what would traditionally fall under the remit of the finance team in other companies. I’ve worked across multiple businesses, giving me a broad perspective on potential challenges, and I’ve learned that no issue is unmanageable – a solution can always be found with careful prioritisation and hard graft. 

One of my favourite aspects of my role is developing creative and useful KPIs for a dynamic range of functions. The reporting requirements are always different, which keeps the work challenging and fresh. And through better reporting and more effective communication, we help businesses run more efficiently, which in turn helps them grow.
